When it comes to having pets, one of the biggest concerns that an owner will have is maintaining their hygiene by the use of a pet odor remover. Although some pets are quite easy to clean and maintain, there are those that would get wild and hard to control even with just a sprinkle of water, just like cats.
To address this problem, there are, fortunately, a lot of products that one could use to easily remove pet odors. Choosing a product to remove pet odor will depend on many factors: pet's reaction to certain products, costs, ease and convenience it brings to both pet and owner.
Regular Shampoos and Deodorants
The most common way to remove pet odor would, of course, be to take one's pet to a bath of water and soap or shampoo. However, doing such would only make it too big a chore to do everyday. Besides, if you have dogs for pets who would love to play and roll around in mud and dirt then it would mean having to do it perhaps twice each day or even more. Too much bathing could cause dryness in your pet's skin and could also damage their furs.
Using a pet deodorant may also be a good option although this has to be done every after the pet has been taken to a bath. Spraying fragrance on to one's pet even if it has not yet taken a bath is not prohibited but is not recommended either. Oftentimes, mixing fragrant scent with a foul one would only make the smell much fouler.
Biocides and Disinfectants
Certain types of products, although very much effective in removing pet odors, could actually do more harm than good. There is a very big percentage that the products contain chemicals that do not only kill those that cause a foul stench but also harm, and may also be toxic to, the health of your pet. Since these cleaners contain harmful chemicals, they must be used with care and caution and stored in a safe place - where pets would not have access to. They must also be kept out of reach to the other members of the family, especially the kids, lest they play with it or ingest it accidentally.
Ozone Generators
A revolutionary method in removing pet odor, without having to use soap and water, is the use of the ionic pet brush. Because it is a waterless method, it has become a very popular method in keeping pets, especially those that are not exactly a big fan of soaking in water, clean and smelling good. Brushing the coat of one's furry friends could already help untangle it and make it softer and smoother even without using pet shampoo.
These new types of brushes do not only remove dirt and debris from the coat as well as neutralizes odor but some may also have a massaging feature that could stimulate circulation in the body.
